PRO INDUSTRY – Mastercard OFF CAMERA industry meetings at the highest level.

For three days (2 – 4 May 2023) Krakow will become a meeting center for an international group of creators, producers, directors, screenwriters, experts and consultants. Panel discussions, workshops and co – production meetings will provide an opportunity to hear about the ideas for new projects and share experiences with the making of feature films and facing a wide range of difficulties. We’ll also talk about successful distribution of Polish films.

This year we will focus on: the o pportunities for young filmmakers to enter the industry and bring their ideas to the big screen, the condition of Polish cinema in the context of film making, and the issues that film producers are much concerned about.

This year’s program includes:

• discussions with the makers of awarded short films, who are now working on their debut features;
• talks with location managers from Malopolska, on how to adapt the region to the expectations and desires of productions from all over the world,
• presentation of pieces o f literature which are ready for screen adaptation, as part of Word2Picture events,
• practical solutions for sustainable, ecological film production,
• workshops on how to identify and respond to mobbing in the industry.

Furthermore, we will explore the issue of the increasingly popular services for foreign producers and meet the winners of the Script Pro screenwriting competition. Th e one – on – one meetings during which Polish and foreign producers will have a chance to talk about potential co – production opportunities, will give the event an extra international touch.

There will also be interesting case studies of the latest Polish films and the annual script consultations organized in co – operation with Torino Film Lab. And in the evenings we will be given the opportunity to get into conversations during the Festival accompanying events.

PRO INDUSTRY – a series of industry events carried out as part of the “FILMOWA MALOPOLSKA (2019–2023)” project. The project received financial support from the Regional Operational Programme for 2014–2020, within the framework of Sub-measure 3.3.1 Economic Promotion of Małopolska.
