In a seemingly idyllic setting in the forest, surrounded by the stillness and tranquility of nature, an elderly woman (played by Maria Maj), forages for mushrooms and berries. But all this is suddenly disrupted by a surprising encounter. She comes across a mysterious young couple (Jędrzej Bigosiński and Paulina Walendziak) who prove to be quite evasive in explaining their situation, insisting that they are simply lost. They don’t engage in conversation; they answer questions in a perfunctory way — they just want the woman to lead them out of the woods. The increasing sense of worry and despair on the faces of the young people makes the elderly woman uneasy, arousing her suspicions about their intentions. Is she about to be attacked? The tension builds with each passing moment, and she can’t see a way out — from the forest or the whole situation. Paweł Borowski’s intimate drama is built on mystery. This is one of those movies where you have to weigh your words so you don’t accidentally say too much. The director skillfully conducts the narrative, appropriately increasing the tension, taking advantage of the unusual location. It all leads to a surprising and memorable finale.
