20-something Moritz (Lorenz Hochhuth) moves to Berlin with his boyfriend. He doesn’t have a specific plan, he’s just intrigued by big city life. When his boyfriend unexpectedly breaks up with him, a confused Moritz sets off on a journey in search of new erotic and social connections, starting at the gym, and lets himself get carried away by the many attractions of Berlin’s crazy nightlife and colorful queer scene. He meets a group of like-minded young people interested in experimenting with drugs, and for a while they become his unofficial chosen family. In his feature debut, Hannes Hirsch explores dynamically evolving models of masculinity, and specifically the queer subcultures of Berlin that his central character dives into. Amid ever-shifting sexual, gender and identity constellations, Moritz sets out to establish a group of his own that might give him a sense of belonging and community.
