Andrzej Seweryn is a theater and film actor and director, also a pedagogue.

In 1968, he graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Warsaw and was taken on by the Ateneum Theater. His first significant role was that of Maks Baum in Andrzej Wajda’s The Promised Land. Other films for which he won critical acclaim include: Andrzej Żuławski’s On the Silver Globe, Jan Rybkowski’s The Border, Andrzej Wajda’s Man of Iron, Without Anesthesia and The Conductor. Andrzej Seweryn was decorated with the Order of Fine Arts and Humanities, L’Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur, Golden Medal Gloria Artis – Merits for Culture by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, and the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
