Film producer
Alise Gelze has been an active film producer since 2006, having successfully produced both features and short films that have premiered at esteemed festivals such as Cannes, Berlinale, Rotterdam IFF, Karlovy Vary IFF, and Pusan IFF, among others. She has also co-produced films with countries including France, Belgium, Finland, Norway, and Russia.
Among her most notable productions are “OLEG” (2019), directed by Juris Kursietis, which made its world premiere at Quinzaine des Réalisateurs; “MOTHER, I LOVE YOU” (2013), directed by Janis Nords, recipient of over 15 international and national awards, including the Berlinale – Generation KPlus International Jury Prize for Best Film; and “MELLOW MUD” (2016), directed by Renars Vimba, which earned the Crystal Bear at Berlinale – Generation 14Plus.
Currently, she leads her own production company, White Picture, with several features in development and post-production, including its inaugural feature “THE INVISIBLE FLIGHT” by Rainer Sarnet, a minority co-production that premiered at Locarno IFF in 2023.
In recognition of her professional achievements in film production, she was awarded the Ministry of Culture of Latvia Recognition Diploma in 2013. Alise Gelze is a graduate of EAVE and ACE Producers, and she is a member of the European Film Academy and the Film Producers Association of Latvia.
